Overview

Summary

The Paint Supervisor is responsible for supervising, evaluating, training, and coaching Mobis Paint department Team Members, completing various reports, and ensuring the production of quality painted parts.

Responsibilities

Essential Functions (To perform within this position successfully, the incumbent must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. Other duties may be assigned.)

  • Direct Team Members to accomplish the department’s daily and weekly goals
  • Generate reports using Word, Excel, and PowerPoint regarding downtime, production, training, and inventory
  • Troubleshoot robots and correct problems as they occur
  • Count inventory and verify amounts
  • Coach and counsel Team Members to ensure accountability for their work performance
  • Complete corrective action for Team Members when necessary
  • Complete Team Member performance evaluations
  • Manage vacation requests by Team Members to ensure department is properly staffed
  • Train Team Members on Paint equipment, systems, and processes
  • All other duties as assigned

Supervisory Responsibilities:

Yes  Supervise 2 Team Leaders, 6 Robot Operators, 25-40 contractors, 1 Technician

Qualifications

Basic Qualifications (The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skills, and/or ability required and preferred for this position.)

 

Required Education & Experience:

High school diploma or equivalent plus at least 5 years of experience in an Industrial Painting Operation and at least 3 years of experience in a leadership role

 

Required Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities:

Paint application skills
Leadership skills
Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint
Analytical skills
Problem-solving/decision-making skills
Conflict resolution skills

 

Preferred Education & Experience:

Experience working with robotics in automotive manufacturing

 

Certificates, Licenses, Registrations, and Testing Requirements: 

Must successfully pass a Pulmonary Function Test (PFT) and Fitness test

 

Working Conditions

Most work takes place on the production floor, with some office work

Use of full respirator
