The Paint Technician is responsible for producing good quality parts by assuring the painting equipment and processes are working correctly.
Essential Functions (To perform within this position successfully, the incumbent must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. Other duties may be assigned.)
-Operate robots in a safe and effective manner
- Reset faults as they occur
-Complete preventive maintenance (PM) on robots to ensure proper spraying
-Ensure that Manufacturing Execution System (MES) data is received into the paint booth correctly
-Perform hand spray touch-ups when necessary
-Troubleshoot quality problems as they occur
-Repair and rebuild robot equipment such as guns, gear pumps, and Air Operating Pilot Regulators (AOPR)
-Record data on booth conditions and downtime
-Report downtime issues to Maintenance
-Make adjustments to preset data to ensure quality parts
-Program paint robots
-Schedule preventive maintenance and ensure completion
-Report items needed for purchase
-Complete downtime reports, technician reports, and downtime summaries on the computer
-Run checks via Datapaq temperature profiling system to ensure oven temperature is correct
-Comply with all safety rules and guidance, as well as report all recognized hazards
-All other duties as assigned
Basic Qualifications (The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skills, and/or ability required and preferred for this position.)
Preferred Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities:
Knowledge of painting processes and correction of quality problems
Robotic paint application knowledge
Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint
Ability to hand-spray and stand for majority of shift
Ability to lift 20-30 lbs.
Working Conditions

90% of work on production floor
