Overview

SUMMARY:
The Production Operations Specialist is responsible for performing Module production continuous improvement activities and supports the accomplishment of the departments' KPI goals. They will support the Production Engineering Manager by tracking/analyzing key statistical data and developing action plans to ensure operational excellence for the Module Production Department is achieved. The Specialist will present/develop/coordinate annual training and improvement activities for the Module Production Department.

Responsibilities

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS: (To perform within this position successfully, the incumbent must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. Other duties may be assigned.)

 

  • Record and analyze departmental metrics using established company and industry methods
  • Organize and make presentations on departmental metrics to support development of action items to improve team performance
  • Perform gap/statistical analysis to identify deficiencies in business processes and programs, and recommends adjustments to programs and/or processes
  • Use appropriate problem-solving tools to provide rapid improvement with sustainable results Ensure adherence to standard processes for data collection, documentation, and reporting
  • Make and manage assigned departmental purchases as required
  • Support development yearly training plan/activities for all department members
  • Assist in managing/maintaining the department's team member training records
  • Conduct audits of and coordinate schedules with the Production management team to verify training performance
  • Identifies and arranges suitable training solutions for team members as needed
  • Participates in operational continuous improvement reviews with Module Production HOD
  • Assist in the review and implementation of Standard Operating Procedures
  • Advise on policies and guidance with Module operations manuals and training programs Works in compliance with industry standards [IATF 16949, ISO 14001, etc.]
  • Other duties as assigned

Qualifications

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS (The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skills, and/or ability required and preferred for this position.)

 

Required Education & Experience:

  • Must have a drive for continual growth and development
  • High School Diploma, GED, or equivalent. 

 

Required Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities:

  • Experience with performance metrics, process improvement, and Lean Manufacturing techniques Results oriented written and verbal communication skills
  • Time management skills
  • Able to work flexible hours as needed to complete required tasks
  • Proven interpersonal and team building skills
  • Proficiency in with Microsoft Office suite

 

Preferred Education & Experience:

  • Experience in automotive manufacturing
  • Experience developing and implementing training plans
  • Lean manufacturing, Six Sigma, or other statistical analysis credentials
  • Experience using and/or developing Business Intelligence systems
  • Associate's Degree in Business, STEM, or related field or related field plus 3 or more years of manufacturing, data analytics/statistical
