The Maintenance Team Member is responsible for performing preventive maintenance (PM), Corrective Maintenance (CM), and repairs on all equipment in the Plastics plant.
- List and report to supervisor/manager all abnormal equipment needed for repairs
- Support production needs by moving to areas with greater maintenance needs or to work on projects
- Record process data required by ADEM and OEM for applicable equipment
- Make suggestions for improvement of PM and complete improvement projects as assigned
- Operate plant equipment as needed, including forklifts, aerial lifts, and overhead cranes
- Complete and maintain an accurate list of all required hand tools
- Perform PM and CM on pneumatic, hydraulic, mechanical, and electrical systems
- Read electrical schematics to troubleshoot the root cause of electrical issues
- Make repairs to damaged objects and equipment, as well as complete and report spare parts log
- Inspect equipment during production before PM and complete PM according to SAP work orders
- Perform tasks outlined in weekend, shutdown, and holiday work plans
- Conduct troubleshooting for equipment problems and breakdowns
- Complete downtime log for each downtime event and trouble reports
- Complete daily and weekly maintenance reports, check sheets, work orders, etc.; report results to supervisor/manager
- Complete countermeasures and improvements as identified on Breakdown Maintenance Reports
- Attend shift change meetings and share information regarding daily maintenance issues
- Communicate with production departments regarding maintenance issues
- Report results for SAP work orders, as well as weekend, shutdown, and holiday work plan tasks to supervisor
- Report equipment breakdown issues to supervisor
- Maintain organization and housekeeping in accordance with 3R5S standards
- Complete and report to supervisor the results for daily 3R5S and autonomous maintenance check sheets
- Use and maintain Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) according to OSHA and MAL standards/maintenance procedures
- follow all Lockout-Tagout (LOTO) procedures when performing maintenance on machinery and maintain all personal LOTO equipment
- Comply with all safety rules and guidance and report all recognized hazards to supervisor/manager
- All other duties as required
Basic Qualifications (The requirements below represent the knowledge, skills, and/or ability required and preferred for this position.)
Required Education & Experience:
High school diploma or equivalent, plus 2.5 years of experience in an industrial maintenance role within a manufacturing setting
Required Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities:
Knowledge of pneumatic, hydraulic, mechanical, and electrical systems
Some knowledge of robots and injection molding machines
Some knowledge of Total Productive Maintenance (TPM), 3R5S, and autonomous maintenance
Some knowledge of fabrication
Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint
Some knowledge of electrical systems
Some knowledge of ISO processes and databases
Ability to read electrical schematics
Organizational skills
Good Verbal and written communication skills
Ability to work in a fast-paced, high-pressure environment and multitask as needed
Preferred Education & Experience:
Associate’s degree in Industrial Maintenance, Electrical/Instrumentation, or related field
Ability to operate basic machining, welding, and assembly equipment
Working Conditions
Position hours: 12 Hour Fixed Day or Night Shift, every other weekend off
Schedule cycle consists of 2 days on, 2 days off, 3 days on, 2 days off, 2 days on, 3 days off
90% of work on production floor, 10% in outdoor environment
Traversing around production floor
Ascending/descending ladders
Occasionally lifting up to 50 lbs.
Overtime as needed
Working in confined spaces
Use of SCBA equipment
