Overview

A Quality Assurance Manager (QA Manager) plays a pivotal role in overseeing and ensuring the quality of products and services within an organization. This involves developing and implementing quality management systems, conducting internal and external audits, and ensuring compliance with industry standards. The QA Manager works closely with various departments to identify quality issues, recommend solutions, and foster a culture of continuous improvement. This position demands a blend of technical expertise, leadership skills, and a keen eye for detail to maintain the highest standards of quality and customer satisfaction.

Responsibilities

  • Maintain quality management systems and standards
  • Complete and analyze the end of the month Field Claim analysis. 
  • Confirm data presented by the QA team, and compare with the previous months.
  • Identify field claim trends, participate in HMMA/Ka-GA & Supplier ratio investigations, and investigate supplier objection.
  • Confirm the HMMA QIR’s report and maintain all supporting documentation.
  • Determine if claims are related to assembly process or supplier process related.
  • Cooperate with Quality Control to analyze the assembly line processes and implement process improvements. Evaluate countermeasures for effectiveness.
  • Provide support for Quality team, address questions and concerns.
  • Activity and analysis about Improvement on Quality of Products for Customers
  • Improvement on quality of products in partner enterprises of Hyundai Mobis
  • Teaching the partner enterprises about how to work with Quality Assurance Dept
  • Conduct internal and external quality audits
  • Plan with Team Members to complete unscheduled audits of different topics to determine reliability and validity of processes.
  • Collaborate with OEM (HMMA/Ka-GA) on returned parts and open issues.
  • Monitor and analyze quality performance metrics
  • Collaborate with other departments to identify and resolve quality issues
  • Ensure products and services comply with OEM requirement and standards
  • Lead and mentor the quality assurance team
  • Develop and deliver quality training programs for staff
  • Investigate customer complaints, analyze root causes and take corrective actions
  • Prepare and present quality reports to senior management
  • Stay updated with the latest industry trends and quality best practices
  • Coordinate with suppliers to ensure quality standards are met
  • Document quality assurance activities and maintain records
  • Implement and oversee quality improvement initiatives
  • Facilitate continuous improvement processes across the organization
  • Responsible for managing the overtime hours of their staff.
  • Comply with and promote safety in the workplace, to include attending safety meetings as well as conduct safety meetings when necessary.
  • Prompt, regular, predictable attendance
  • Physical presence at work during all scheduled work hours 
  • Overtime and weekend work as required
  • All other job duties as assigned

Qualifications

Supervisory Responsibilities: Manages Senior Specialist and Specialist level positions.

 

Required Education & Experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering or related field; advanced degree preferred.

 

Required Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities:

  • Six Sigma Green Belt and above (certified).
  • Knowledge of quality standards such as IATF16949 and quality management systems
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook).
  • Excellent communication, analytical, and interpersonal skills.
  • Experience with OEM client management, especially Korean manufacturers, is a plus.

 

Preferred Education & Experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering or related field; advanced degree preferred.
  • Minimum 8–10 years of experience in automotive quality assurance.
  • Strong problem-solving capabilities.
  • Strong knowledge of warranty systems, and supplier management.

 

Certificates, Licenses, and Registrations:  None

 

Working Conditions:

  • Approximately 25% of work performed on production floor (standing) & 75% office environment.
  • Ability to lift 20-30 lbs, traverse around the production floor to complete inventories and judge needed repairs, communicate with all levels of Team Members in this department and their customers.
